Suq al-Nahhasin
Suq al-Nahhasin, the coppersmith Street was built in the 15th century. It has a cruciform four-iwan design for Sufis who wished to study Islamic law with traditional madrasa structure. This structure is crucial to the knowledge of changing roles and forms of religious institutions.
Bayn al-Qasrayn
Bayn al-Qasrayn, or the palace walk, is a street between two palaces: palace of Caliph and palace of al-Aziz, son of Caliph. It was the heart of the royal city of al-Qahira. It worked as a market in which Egyptians and foreigners came in to sell and buy goods. Cairo, being the center of Egypt, provided public buildings throughout the palace walk to provide public fountain and other works.
Qala`un Complex
Qala'un Complex is located in al-Mu’izz Street. It was built for the sultan. It was built to connect madrasa with the domed plan. The octagonal structure of the building is covered with a dome. The dome was destroyed during the 18th century and was reconstructed in 1903. The octagonal structure is transformed into a circular shape. It is decorated with marble revetment, carved and painted wood, and stucco.
Al-Husayn Mosque
Al-Husayn Mosque is the center of prayer and culture. This Mosque is usually overflowing during Fridays for religious reasons. It is the most crucial center of pilgrimage. Visitors might observe men kissing the tomb, throwing themselves to it. Since there are lots of people visiting this site, there is also many people coming in for commercial benefits, bargaining what they made for sale.
